TIMARU TRAGEDY.

TWO MEN BEFORE COURT. REMAND ON MURDER CHARGE SEVERAL COUNTS WITHDRAWN. (By Telegeraph.—Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. Remanded last week on a charge of murder, Thomas: James Cox and John Henry Fitzgerald, both of Timaru, appeared before the Timaru Police Court to-day, when, on the application of the police,' they were remanded to appear before the Court on May 4. Cox was also charged with being intoxicated while in charge of r. motor car in Conoor Road on April 4, and Fitzgerald with drunkenness, resisting a police constable, in the execution of his duty, and with wilfully damaging, a motor car. Both men were charged with murdering Robert Galvin Nisbett, in Conoor Road, on April 4.

The police applied for leave to withdraw the first mentioned charges, remarking that the police intended to proceed only with the charge of murder.
