ALFONSO'S CHOICE. King Has no Wish to Cause Civil Warfare. FEELINGS OF HOSTILITY. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 2.30 p.m.) MADRID, April 13. The British -United Press learns that King Alfonso informed Count Romanones that he does not wish to plunge Spain into civil warfare. The Minister of the Interior, the Marquis HoyoSf claims that when the full results of the election.are known on Wednesday there will be a Monarchist majority. One newspaper reports King Alfonso as saying to one of his Ministers: "It is no use my Ministers trying to minimise the real significance of the voting. I am convinced the Republican votes are directed not at the Monarchical regime itself, but at me personally. Therefore I consider it ray business to find a clear and definite solution of the affair." "The sooner Alfonso abdicates the better," said Senor Zamora, the Republican leader. "I lay all the blame on the King who, despite his -debonair charm, ha« 3 always tried to govern autocratically. He was the real dictator. . -"If Cabinet does not resign our only course is revolution, in which we are bound to win because of the new spirit and enthusiasm."
