FARM PRODUCE BOARDS.
OVERLAPPING ALLEGED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 13. "That this meeting favours the abolition of the present produce boards and the substitution of a central produce board with powers to arrange shipping and insurance contracts, advertising and inspection of loading in New Zealand, delivery abroad and the development of fresh markets for New Zealand produce, was the text of a resolution carried cy the Tokaora branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. The produce boards were overlapping in their work, said Mr. 0. D. Dickie, and they were also encroaching upon the work of the Empire Marketing Board. He believed them to be at the present time decided luxuries. Other speakers expressed similar opinions.
