HUNTLY DRUIDS.
DISTRICT PRESIDENT INSTALLED. (From Our Own Correspondent.) HUNTLY, this day. The fortnightly meeting of the Star of Huntly Lodge, No. 56, was held in St. Paul's Church Social Hall on Thursday last, the occasion of the elevation of P.A. Bro. J. Salmond to the office of district president for No. 15 district. It was a red letter day for the Huntly Druids, as this was the first occasion on which a brother of the local lodge had had the distinction of holding office as a district president. The usual business of the lodge having been completed the brothers and sisters of the Pride of Newcastle and Hamilton lodges were welcomed. Distinguished brothers of the order were also announced in the persons of Grand President T. H. Wilson, V.P.G. Bro. G. H. Letharby, and the following P.D. presidents of Auckland:—Bros. G. W. Gregory, J. J. Potter, and J. T. Routledge, and D.P. Bro. A. Rayner of Ngaruawahia. The principal event of the evening was the installation of PA.. Bro. Salmond for the current term, the master of ceremonies being Bro. G. W. Gregory, P.D.P., of Auckland. The ceremony was performed by the late District President, Bro. A. Rayner, after which V.G.P. Bro. G. H. Letharby gave an address on Grand Lodge and lodge routine. G.P. Bro. T. H. Wilson also spoke. After the installation ceremony, supper was held, toasts honoured, and musical items given.
