PIGEON RACING.

NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Pigeon Club flew a race last week from. Taumarunui, an airline distance of 144 miles, iu stormy weather, the first two placed birds being bred by Mr. A. Gilbert. Results:— Mr. G. Hemingway's re p c Andy's Red, sS2yds per minute ■ 1 Mr. F. Roman's r c c Skyraider, 580 yds 2 Mr. W. Aitkin's m c Desert Gold, 566 yds 3 Also flew: Messrs. Buchanan Bros.' b c h Lady Roslyn. 498 yds: Mr/H. Sarnhill's r c c Red Fed, 483 yds: Mr. E. Andrew's bch Star Comet. 465 yds; Messrs Cocbett and Gilbert (non-clock). This week the club flew from Ohakuno, an airline of 186 miles. Mr. H. Sarnhill's bch Firefly proved to be the.winner.; Results: — Mr. H. Sarnhill's bch Firefly, 1083 yds 1 Messrs. Corbett and Gilbert's b b p h Lady Blanche, 1070 yds 2 Mr. G. Hemingway's r c c True Red, 1029 yds 3 Also flew : Messrs. Buchanan Bros.' blk h Black Princess, 1027 yds; Mr. F. Roman's r c c Skyraider, 1018 yds; Mr. E. Andrew's bch Star Comet, lOOSyds. Next week the club flies its Derby race from Hunterville, an airline of 220 miles.

MANUNUI HOMING CLUB. The Manunui Homing Pigeon Club concluded their North young bird programme by flying their young bird championship from' Newmarket for the Langwell Cup. also a consolation prize. The birds were liberated by the stationuiastcr in rain and a strong southerly wind, and after,a hard fly-of 6 hours 54 minutes the winning bird homed to its loft. The club hampered up 32 birds and onlv four homed on the day. Mr. R. Patterson's Royal Routine, 603.1 yds per mill. 1 Mr. J. Knutt's Stonn King, 002.1 yds 2 The only two members to clock in. Next week-end the club will conclude their South programme by flying their young bird Derby from Johnsoiiville for the Wilson Cup.
