Mr. A. Hawley, of Wcllirigt6n, is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. E. C. Blake, of Wellington, is at Hotel Cargett. the Hon. S. G. Smith. Minister of Labour, arrived from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. Justice Ostler is progressing favourably after a severe operation in a Wellington private hospital last Friday. Messrs. J. S. Fletcher, W. J. Jordan and H. G. R. Mason, M.P ; 's, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. C. R. Corfe,. of. New Plymouth, has been appointed manager of tlti Hamilton branch of the Bank of New South Wales. Colonel J. J. Esson, C.M.G., has relinquished the appointment of honorary financial adviser to the New Ze4land Military Forces, and is posted to tli.i retired list. .'. Mr. J. Hislop, of Wadestown, formerly. Under-Secretary for Internal Affaire, and for many years secretary to the late Mr. R. J. Seddon and Sir Joseph. Ward during the periods of tlwir Premiership, is staying with his son, Mr. E. Hislop, of Te Kuiti. Mr. tlis'.op broke his'thigh in an accident at Wanganui recently, and is at present coavales-;-
