Mr. Justice Smith left for Wellington last evening. Mr. W. B. Watson, of London, is at Hotel Cargen. The Rev. W. Lamb, of Sydney, is at Hotel Stonehurst. Mr. G. C. Munns, M.P., left for Wellington last evening. Mr. C. J. Eskell, New Zealand manager for Fox Films, is at the Grand Hotel. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, left last evening for Wellington. Mr. E. T. Hindmarsh. of Wellington, acting-manager in New Zealand for the Shell Oil Company, Limited, is at the Grand Hotel. Captain C. V. Bigg-Wither, of the North Auckland Mounted Rifles, has been posted to the retired list. Mr. W. Appleton, of Wellington, has been apnointcd a director of the Scoullar Company, Limited, in succession to the late Hon. T. Shailcr Weston. The Rt. Hon. Sir Francis Bell has been urnnted leave of absence bv the Legislative Council. He is suffering from a slight attack of influenza. Mr. B. Nolan, who has been connected with the State Coal Depot, Wellington, for the past 21 years, has retired on superannuation. Mr. H. Nevill Smith, the Christchurch artist and singer, who has been in America for the last two years, left San Francisco on Wednesday for Sydney. He expects to return to New Zealand by the end of the month. Mr. H. W. Brodie, overseas passenger manager for the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, is visiting Wellington. He will spend three more weeks in New Zealand and will then proceed to Australia.
