MISSING GIRL.
RETURNED TO HER HOME. COLLAPSED AT BACK DOOR. SEARCH PARTIES AT PUKEKOHE. A fourteen-year-old girl who disappeared from her home at Buckland on Friday returned early last evening and collapsed at the back door of her parents' residence. She was in a bad way, but after medical attention improved. The Pukekohe police were notified on Saturday that the girl was missing and in conjunction with the Tuakau police a search party was organised. Parties searched till midnight, and yesterday renewed their efforts. In addition to the police, settlers and members of the Pukekohe Fire Brigade took part. A wide area was searched, the work being very difficult at time owing to scrub in the
gullies. A further search was planned for to-day. There was nothing in the girl's appearance on her return to indicate that she had been far from her home. Up to the present she has been unable to give a coherent account of her wandering.
