TERRIFIC IMPACT.
MOTOR CYCLISTS COLLIDE. PONSONBY MAN INJURED. OTHER EIDER ARRESTED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. With a terrific impact, two motor I cycles collided at seven o'clock last, j evening on the Thames-Kopu Road. The result was the admission to hospital of ! Mr. Lionel Thomas, a young married man, of Ponsonby. He is in a critical conditio^!. The police this morning- arrested the other cyclist involved in the collision, William Farmer Scott, a farm hand, of Matatoki, and charged him with negligently driving so as to cause bodily harm. Scott was remanded for a week, bail being allowed. Thomas' depositions are being taken.
I CAR OVER BANK AT WAIHX.
(By Telegraph.—yOwn Correspondent.) WATHT, Friday. When attempting to pass a. large | motor lorry laden with coal for th« Grand Junction power house, a motor car driven by M. R. McEnteer,' butcher, went over the bank this morning in Grey Street. The fall, which was some ten feet, was broken by a heavy growth of blackberry, and little damage was done to the vehicle. Mr. McEnteer escaped injury. The roadway is not very wide in the vicinity of the accident.
