TEACHERS' SALARIES.
INVESTIGATION URGED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. At the opening of the annual meeting of the Otago branch of the Educational Institute, Mr. F. L. de Berry, the president, gave an address on the fundamental problems in education. In the course of hie remarks lie suggested that the Department of Education should set up a special committee to report on the question of teachers' salaries in primary, secondary and technical schools. The committee should be composed of officers of the Department, a representative of the teachers, and representatives of industry. The business man had a definite interest in the question of education, and his opinion should be worth having.
