LONG-SERVICE INCREMENT.
ECONOMY EN" CIVIL SERVICE. BENEFIT TO BE TERMINATED. (By Telegraph,—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. One of the earliest evidences of Government economy is a notice that the long-service increment of £9 a year to officers of the general "division of the Public Service, who were receiving not more than £180 a year, has been terminated. This benefit to lower-paid officers had been in operation for 18 vears.
