I "English" should be pronounced as "Inglish," "forehead" as for-ed," "profile" as "pro-feel," "towards" as "tordz," "connoisseur" as "kon-as-er," "horizon" as "ho-ry-zon," and "medicine" as "medsn." The "accepted" pronunciation of "valet" is now "val-lt" (not vtfl-ay), and that of "amateur" is either 'ama-ture" or 'd-oater." ,
