THE PRICE OF MILK.
I quite agree with the' "Takapuna Housewife" who has written on the above matter, not only to help herself but to help her sisters who reside in the North Shore boroughs. To me and any sane-minded person it seems positively absurd that the city residents, who3e milk comes from ever so many miles away, are first to get the reduction, whereas we who have the supply as one might say at the back door still hive to pay the higher price. Furthermore, to be able to obtain a drop of milk in Devonport of a Wednesday evening, should one happen to run short, is an unheard of luxury. Does the milkman who delivers milk -in the heart of Devonport at 1.30 a.m. claim it to be the same morning's milk ? DEVONPORT HOUSEWIFE.
