ATHLETICS.
SCHOOLS' ASSOCIATION. IMPROVEMENT IN STANDARD. At the annual meeting of the Auckland Secondary Schools' Amateur Athletic Association, a statement in the report read to the effect that the competitive standard at the last chompionship meeting showed a marked improvement. At the next competition there will be three grades—a setoior, an intermediate, a junior. Since St. Stephen's School is now outside the metropolitan area can no longer be eligible as a member of the association. Following were the season's officers elected: —President, Mr. G.. J." Park, principal of Technical College; vicepresidents. headmasters Of the associated schools; committee, Mr. A. W. Short (chairman), Brother Ernan, Messrs. C. N. Nicholls, H. T. Revell, R. M. Webber, H. ,L. Towers; honorary treasurer, Mr. H. T. Revell; honorary auditor, Mr. H. W. Shove; honorary secretary, Mr. H. L. Towers. Meeting on Wednesday. The annual championships will be held at the Domain next Wednesday, commencing at 1.30 p.m.
