RELIEF FOR PURCHASERS. PLEA BY LABOUR MEMBERS. PRIME MINISTER'S PROMISE. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) , / WELLINGTON, this day. A strong plea for the extension of the provisions of the. Mortgagors Relief Bill to hire purchasers' agreements, which was made by Labour members in the House, produced a promise from the Prime Minister to hav» the matter looked into with a view to ascertaining whether a covering clause could be incorporated. ■ / Mr. Forbes said it had been felt that there would be a great deal of difficulty in dealing with, hire purchase agreements. They involved such goods as motor cars, gramophones, radio sets, etc., and if payment of instalments were postponed the use of goods would go on and the goods themselves would depreciate. However, inquiries would be made before the measure was dealt with by the Legislative Council.
