Bitter Condemnation by Chicago Paper. "REIGN OF CORRUPTION." CHICAGO, April D. Commenting upon the defeat of Mh William Thompson by Mr. Anton J. Cermak for the Mayoralty of the city the "Chicago Tribune" says: "It is an unpleasant business catch a skunk, but one does it.. However, for Chicago Mr. Thompson has meant filth, corruption, obscenity, idiocy and bankruptcy. He has given the city an international reputation for moronic buffoonery, barbaric -crime, triumphant lioodlumism, unchecked graft and dejected citizenship. "He nearly ruined the property of the city and completely destroyed its pride. He made Chicago a by-word for the collapse of American civilisation."
