In the Rugby Union matches Bath beat Northampton (3—5, Cardiff beat Coventry 27 —3, Newport lost to Barbarians 9—lß.

The Billiards Control Council has selected Steeples, of Sheffield, amateur champion, to represent England in the Empire championship at Sydney.
In their billiards match Xewman has made 6259 and Lindrum 5300.
