CAPETOWN STRIKE.

VENGEANCE OF BUSMEN,

CAPETOWN, April 6,

A strike of tram and bus employees dislocated the Easter transport at Capetown. The tramway company recently absorbed the opposition bus run to Sea Point and appointed Mr. Hughes, the former owner of the buses, as manager. The Sea Point section of the men refused to join, the tramway union and struck at midnight. The police guarded all garages, but some of the strikers succeeded in getting through a skylight at the headquarters depot. They removed all the essential parts of the buses and deflated all the tyres. It is raining to-day but the full effect of the strike will not be felt until the resumption of business to-morrow.
