The Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting is terminating in dull weather, the track again being fast. There is a large attendance.
The Hurdles. In the Peerswick Hurdles Pangolin led Antrim Boy over the' first hurdle, with Oriflamb next. A little further on Antrim Boy took charge, followed by Oriflamb and Pangolin, with Troilus next. Oriflamb and Antrim Boy were, together at the home turn, and led Troilus over the last hurdle. Antrim Boy then drew out to win by four lengths from Troilus, who got up just in time to beat Oriflamb. Pangolin was fourth.
Autumn Nursery. In the Nursery the colours of Azalea, Solvent, Gold Pit and Chief Cook were prominent racing for the'course proper, where Last March was also showing up on the outside. The field was in close order below the distance, where Zeebrugge shot out, with Convoy in close attendance. Convoy stayed on to beat Zeebrugge by a neck, Solvent being two lengths away, a head in front of Chief Cook. Results:— PEERSWICK HURDLES of 20030V5. Once round and a distance. Five furlongs. 4—CONVOY, 7.2 1 B—ZEEBRUGGE, 7.2 .' 2 I—SOLVENT, 9.3 3 Also started: Chief Cook, 8.9; Last March, 8.8; Gold Pit, 8.2; Ma Belle Polly, 7.4; Type, 7.3; Azalea, Diable, 7.0.
