PLUNKET SOCIETY.
ANNUAL APPEAL TO-MORROW
NEED AS GREAT AS EVER
Plunket Day falls to-morrow, when the society will make its annual appeal to the citizens of Auckland.
It is regretted that this follows only one week after the commercial travellers' appeal on behalf of the earthquake fund, but to-morrow has been allotted to the society and it cannot be changed without encroaching on some other society's collection day. Moreover, the Plunket Society has held its street collection on the last Friday in March for the past six years, and feels its claim will not be passed over by those generous supporters who realise the value of its work.
Times are hard, and money scarce, but this only throws more responsibility on to the society. It is confidently hoped that citizens will make every effort to help the society to carry on its vital work.
