TREATY NOT ADVANTAGEOUS

OTTAWA, March 23

The elow recovery of Mr. H. H. Stevens, Canadian Minister of Trade and Customs, who is at present at Bermuda recovering from a recent operation, indicates that he 'will be unable to make an appearance in the House of Commons this session. It is understood that the Prime Minister, Mr. R. B. Bennett, will introduce the new trade treaty between Canada and Australia negotiated by Mr. Stevens and Mr. Parker , Maloney, the Australian Minister. Mr. L. D. Casgrain, a Liberal member, of the House, in a .speech predicted that a treaty with New Zealand would not now bc'so advantageous to Canada as it had previously been.
