REGIONAL PLANNING.

RECOMMENDED FOR ONEHUNGA

At a meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council last night Messrs. F. W. Mount; joy and S. Vella presented the report of a special committee on certain questions submitted to the council by the Otahuhu Borough Council. It was quite clear, the report stated, that a regional planning committee would not usurp the powers of loc.il bodies 'but would rather strengthen their hands. Tin? question of compensation would only arise when a local body decided to incorporate the regional planning scheme in its own town planning schemes. Messrs. Mountjoy and Vella advised that the setting up of a regional committee would be in the best interest of the local authorities and all concerned.
