FLUCTUATIONS IN SHARES. BUSINESS RATHER QUIET. TAX-FREES STILL ADVANCING. Government tax-free bonds are still in keen demand, but sellers are scarce. Up lo £96 10/ was on offer this morning, but the lowest seller wanted £9S. This shows a rise of more than £3 in a fortnight. The slight improvement in Farmers' Trading was confirmed yesterday afternoon with a sale of the ordinaries at 6 6. after which there were still buyers at 6 4. At this morning's call Commercials were a shade better, with buyers at 15/8, but other banks, and also insurances, were unaltered. In the miscellaneous section Milne and C'hoyce's shares were wanted at 18/ 6, Farmers' Fertilisers at 14/, and Colonial Sugars had buyers at £31. The Noon Call. A few fresh sales were notified at the noon call, with no alteration in values. At the fresh bidding there were few changes, but New Zealand Breweries were easier, with sellers at £1 17/9, and Staples' Breweries were for at £1 14/.
