Sir James Gunson left for Wellington last evening. Dr. Marsden arrived from Wellington this morning. Mr. W. A. Donald returned from Fiji by the Aorangi yesterday. Dr. Watt, Director-General of Health, arrived from Wellington this morning. Dr. F. V. Bevan-Brown, headmaster of the Christchurch Boys' High School, will leave Wellington shortly on a trip to England. •Mr. E. Clark, stationmaster at Frankton Junction, has retired on superannuation. Mr. W. P. Miller, of Wellington, is on relieving duty as stationmaster. Mr. T. H. Bull, London representative of Emu Wines, Ltd., arrived at Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday. He is j staying at the Hotel CJargen. Mr. A. F. Shanks, of Barrhead, Scot- ! land, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday on a six weeks' visit to Isicw Zealand. He is staying at the Hotel Cargen. Messrs. R. C. Porter and V. G. Jones, representing the Auckland Ironmasters' Association, will leave this evening to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Ironmasters' Federation at Wellington. Major J. Caldwell and his son, Mr. T. H. Caldwell, of London, who have been deep-sea fishing at Whangaroa, left by the Tofua tins morning for the Islands. Mr. H. E. Weimerskirk, of General
Motors Corporation, Detroit, arrived by the Aorangi yesterday on a business trip to New Zealand. He is staying at the Grand Hotel.
