SHIPPING NEWS.

CAMBRIDGE FOR LONDON. NO SYDNEY STEAMER. The tonnage in port was considerably reduced by the departure yesterday afternoon of the cruiser Diomede for Wellington, the Iris for Bass Strait, the Waihemo for Wellington, the Glenbank for Ocean Island and the Port Pirie for London. The departure of the Cambridge, which was to sail for London at daybreak to-day, has now been postponed to this afternoon. There will be no passenger steamer from Auckland for Sydney to-morrow, as the Maunganui, now in port, is to lay up here until the second week in April. The Ulimaroa leaves Wellington to-mor-row for Sydney, but she is reported to be a full ship.

AUSTRALIAN CARGOES. . The Kartigi left Melbourne at 3 p.m. on Tuesday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Karepo has been fixed to load at Adelaide and Melbourne about the middle of April for Auckland and southern ports not yet decided. The Kalingo is to load at Newcastle about the end of this month, and complete at Coff's Harbour, for Auckland, Lyttelton, Wanganui and Greymouth. UNION COMPANY'S STEAMERS. The Kiwitea returned from Portland last evening and berthed at the Prince's wharf. She is to sail for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru at noon to-morrow. The Waipiata cleared Lyttelton yesterday afternoon for Wellington and Auckland, and is expected to clear Wellington this evening. The Waimarino left Timaru at 9 p.m. yesterday for Dunedin, Oamaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. NORTHERN CO.'S MOVEMENTS. The C. and D. Line steamer Port Pirie sailed for London 'yesterday afternoon. H.M.s. Diomede sailed yesterday afternoon for Wellington, via Picton and Nelson. While she is at Wellington, the crew will undergo musketry training at Trentham. To continue discharge of her general cargo from the Pacific Coast, the Union Company's steamer Waihemo sailed for Wellington yesterday afternoon. The Swedish steamer Innaren is loading at Durban this week, and will complete at Capetown, for Auckland and Wellington. TAINUI'S SAILING. The departure of the Shaw, Savill and Albion passenger steamer Tainui from Wellington for Southampton and London has been postponed to 5 p.m. on April 9. DUNROBBIN TO-MORROW. Due at Auckland to-morrow afternoon with 8000 tons of phosphate from Makatea, the steamer Dunrobin will discharge the local portion of her cargo at the King's wharf to the agency of Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd. The remainder is for New Plymouth and Wanganui. TAMAROA REPORTED. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Tamaroa, which was dispatched from Southampton on February 27 with passengers, mails and cargo for Wellington and Auckland, is reported to have cleared Balboa last Tuesday. She is due at Wellington on March 31. MONOWAI LEAVES SYDNEY. Leaving Sydney to-day, the Union Company's It. M.s. Monowai is due at Wellington next Monday morning. She is scheduled to sail for Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco the following day. ULIMAROA FOR SYDNEY. On her return trip to Sydney, the Hud-dart-Parker passenger steamer Ulimaroa is to be dispatched from Wellington at midday to-day. She is reported to be a full ship. MARAMA'S MOVEMENTS.

With passengers, mails and cargo for Auckland, the Union Company's passenger steamer Marama leaves Sydney to-morrow. She is due here next Tuesday morning, and sails again for Sydney the following Friday. ARRIVED AT PANAMA. En route from Wellington to .London, the Federal steamer Northumberland and th° C. and D. motor ship Port Dunedin are reported to have arrived at Panama last Monday, and cleared Colon the following day. The Northumberland left Wellington on February 23, and the Port Dunedin the following day. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Auckland advises that the Narrows flashlight, Tauranga Harbour, will be out on the nights of the 18th, 19th and 20th of this week for repairs. There will be a punt moored to the pile from which thife light is mounted, and a temporary light will be exhibited on the punt. The Narrows light is the first one in the sailing. course from the Mount towards the Tauranga township. AORANGI AT SUVA. En route from Vancouver to Sydney, the Union Company's R.M.m.s. Aorangi arrived at Suva this morning, and was expected to clear there for Auckland at 1 p.m. roday. She is due here next Sunday afternoon, berthing at the Prince's wharf, and is announced to resume her voyage to Sydney at 10 p.m. on Monday.
