RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB.
The Auckland City Defence Rifle_ Club conducted its weekly shoot over the 500 yds and 600 yds ranges on Saturday. Assisted by a steady wind and an excellent light, the marksmen made a club record for these distances. No fewer than 12 men compiled aggregates of 90 or over. C. J. M. Clark gave a very fine exhibition of markmanship in dropping only three points in 20 shots. With added handicaps he and A. J. Robertson won a spoon each, H. Judkins and S. Griffiths being counted out. Scores off the rifle were: C. J. M. Clark, 50 at 500 yds, 47 at 600 yds, total 97; A. G. Robertson, 49, 46—95; W. H. Thompson, 47 —47 —94; H. J. Verrall, 47, 47—94; H. Judkins, 49, 45—94; H. Simmonds, 48, 45—93; S. Griffiths, 46, 46—92 ; A. Somervell, 47, 44—91; H. W. Cozens t 47, 44 —91; H. W. Verrall, 45, 45—90; C. J. Robieson, 45, 45—90; J. A. Spry, 47, 43—90; G. Reimers, 45, 43—88; S. C. Wells, 43, 43—86; A. G. Begenkolbe, 45, 41—86; J. Walker, 43, 35 —78; R. White, 30, 37—67. A service shoot, based on the National Rifle Association's programme, will be fired next Saturday, and this will count for the club championship.
AKARANA CLUB.
The final shoot of the Akarana Rifle Club's championship series was completed on Saturday at the range. The distances fired over were 500 and 600 yards. Trophies presented by Mr. A. M. Kichardson, the club, and Mr. F. Wakefield, were won by J. R. Draffin,.A. G. Smith and T. Holmes respectively. Possibles were registered by E. J. C. Reston and T. Bryan. In their respective sections silver spoons were won by E. J. C. Reston, A. G. Smith and J. Jones-Parry. Details of the shooting are as follow:—

THAMES CLUB." The members of the Thames Defence Rifle Club met on Saturday and shot for the final round of Mr. Trebilcock's trophy, the winner being R. Houghton, with the best average in the three rounds. There was also a club trophy shot for, and this was won by A. Newland. The following are the scores, shooting at 200 and 300 yards: A.
