SHEARING OF SHEEP.

CLAIM BY TEN MAORIS. ALLEGED WRONGFUL DISMISSAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", this day. Ten Maori shearers of Porirua are claiming £300 from Mr. E. L. Riddiford, of Orongorongo, for alleged wrongful dismissal. It is contended by the plaintiffs that they had been dismissed by the defendant's manager after they had declared that somo sheep were too wet to shear. They pointed out that under the award no shearer should be dismissed for refusing to shear sheep which he had reasonable ground to consider wet. The defendants contended the sheep were fit to shear. The hearing of the evidence is proceeding.
