NEW S.P.C.A. PUBLICATION. PREVENTION OF ALL CRUELTY. There are numerous signs that the movement for protecting animals in various ways is growing steadily. One of these is the appearance of a magazine devoted to the work of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This little journal, "Animal Welfare," the first number of which has just been issued, is published by the Auckland society. This well-edited and inteiesting publication contains articles on various aspects animal protection and news of the movement. In the editorial the society states its belief tliat this is the first magazine of the kind published in New Zealand. "In a civilised community," says tiiis statement of policy, "cruelty to man or beast lias 110 place. Wo stand unreservedly and wholeheartedly for the prevention of all unnecessary cruelty."
