MUNICIPAL POLITICS.
A meeting of Takapuna Western Area Ratepayers'' Association was held on Wednesday at the home of the president, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield. It was decided that letters be sent to the council drawing attention to the fact that wandering cattle were doing harm to the new work being carried on in the reserves. It was also agreed to ask the council to assist the association in obtaining a penny-in-the-slot telephone for Parklands. "'The postmaster is to be requested to give an afternoon delivery of mails to parts closely populated and not served at present. The elections and proposed candidates were discussed, and' it was resolved to hold a special meeting in about ten days' time to choose candidates for the coming election. Complaints were made concerning smoke from the destructor, and it was decided to refer the matter to Dr. Cl^esson.
