CHILD KILLED.
STRUCK BY TRAIN. FATALITY AT HENDERSOJ. BOYS PLAYING ON LINE. A small boy, Peter Samuel Hudson, aged three years, of 6. Valley Road, Henderson, received fatal injuries when he was struck by the engine of a suburban train near the Henderson railway station about three o'clock yesterday afternoon. The boy and his brother, who is a little older, were playing on the railway lines about two chains oa the south side of the Valley Road crossing. Shortly after three o'clock the train from Auckland drew in, and the whistle wai blown several times to warn the children. The boys were ou the side of tracks away from their home and the elder boy crossed the lines safely. It is reported that his brother stopped, and then decided to follow him just as the train approached. He was struck on the head by the engine. The engine drew up in its own length. The boy received medical attention, and the St. John Ambulance, following its summons, made the trip to Henderson in 16 minutes. The boy was admitted to the Auckland Hospital with a fractured skull, but he died two hours later.
