MR. GEORGE T WESTON.
A business man well known at Te Kuiti and Pukekohe, Mr. George Thomas Weston, died in a private hospital in Auckland this morning m his 66th year. Mr. Weston was born in Auckland. His o-randparents on liis mother's side, whose name was Hanlen, settled in the city in 1850, and were in business in High Street so early as to be involved in the great fire that occurred there in 1858. Both his parents were members of the first choir of old St. Paul's Church, and also of the Auckland Choral Society in its earliest years. His father, the late Mr. Charles Weston, was a close associate of the late Sir Henry Brett in both these connections. Mr. Charles Weston went to the Thames soon after _ the opening of the field, and was in business as a blacksmith until his death in 1880. Mr. George Weston was trained to his father's calling, but afterwards entered into business as a baker, first at Silverdale, then at Pukekohe, and in later years at Te Kuiti. He leaves a widow, who is a daughter of the late Mr. T. Lees, of Silverdale, and also four daughters and four sons, besides 15 grandchildren. Two of his brothers are wellknown New Zealand journalists—Mr. F. W. Weston, of the Hansard staff, and Mr. C. G. Weston, assistant editor of the Dominion, Wellington.
