Lilburne Leaves Canterbury.— May Play for Petone or Hutt.
(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.")
CHRISTCHURCH, this day.
H. Lilburne, the Albion Football Club player, will leave for the North this evening. He has been transferred from Addington railway workshops to the Hutt workshops in. Wellington.
It is not yet certain which football club he will play for in Wellington, but it is possible that he may join either Hutt or Petone.
H. T. Lilburne, the well-known Canterbury player, was one of the star backs of the 1928 All Blacks in South Africa, and in that year he wore an All Black jersey for the first time. The following year he went across to Sydney with Porter's team, and last year represented New Zealand in the fourth Test against the Englishmen at Wellington. Lilburne is a sound yet spectacular player, who can take his place anywhere in the back line. He has represented New Zealand at first and second five-eighths, centre three-quarter and full-back. He is not yet 23 years old.
