Mr. A. Hordern, of Sydney, is staying at Hotel Cargcn.
The Rt. Hon. -T. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, is staying at the Grand Hotel.
Sir Walter Carncross, Speaker of the Legislative Council, ancl Lady Carncross left for Wellington last evening.
Mr. H. P. Phillips, of England, and Mr. A. Stock, of Christchurch, are staying at the Star Hotel.
Lieutenant-Commander H. B. Farncombe, of the Australian Division of tlie Royal jSTavy, who has been attending a course of instruction in England, left Wellington by the Marama for Sydney yesterday.
Mr. Gordon Troup, M.A., has been appointed to represent Victoria College, Wellington, at the University Empire Conference, which is to be held in Paris about the middle of this year. Mr. Troup is residing in Paris.
Mr. P. J. Truscott has resigned the position of works manager with Messrs. Lever Bros., Wellington, after 13 years' service with the company. He will leave Wellington shortly to reside in Christchurch.
The resignation of the secretary, Mr. C. P. Butler, was- accepted with regret at a meeting of the Whangarei Agricultural and Pastoral Society last niffht. On the motion of Mr. H. W. Crawford it was decided to place on record th? efficient manner in which Mr. Butler had done his work.
