BANKRUPT FARMER.
REASON TOR FAILURE.
FALL IN BUTTERFAT PRICES. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A meeting in the estate of J. L. Sutcliffe, farmer, was held tn the Official Assignee's office yesterday. The statement disclosed liabilities amounting to £153 6/. Besides this was a debt incurred on account of a secured overdraft owing to bankrupt s uncle, Mr. J. Jackson, which now totals £101 3/4, and a claim for three months' rent at £17 10/ per month. There were no assets. The bankrupt stated that lie was a manager for Mrs. Bullions on her tarm and subsequently, in March, 1030, with £54 of capital, he took over a lease of the farm. His bankruptcy was chiefly duo to the fall in price for butterfat, mainitis in the herd, and sickness of his wife, which made it impossible for him to meet his obligations. The creditors decided to leave affairs in the hands of the assignee.
