Arrangements have been made, on the recommendation of the Akarana Maori Association, with the Unemployment rmnmfssioner at Wellington, so that Maori applicants may qualify under the 2'Si Native Affairs Oflico, and do not as hitherto, have to go foivvaid to Wellington in the first instance. Many natives are taking advantage of the piocedure to enable themselves to be classed as eligible without undue de.ay.
