TAIHAPE, Monday, A challenge match for the Main Trunk Cricket Shield took place at Moawliango on Sunday, Taihape retaining the trophy by 79 runs on the first innings. Ruapehu compiled 84 (Fleet 23, Marriner 15), and in a second strike made 168 (McVay 46, Geraghty 31, Marriner 23). Dr. Sinclair took four wickets for 21 runs, J. Whittle six for 44. ' Taihape made 163 {R. P. Marsh 47, S. T. Atkins 31, I. R. Parkes 30, Hawk 21, Dripps 18). Marriner took three wickets for 20 runs. j TAUMARUNUI ASSOCIATION.
