DIXIELAND.

The popular cat>arct-by-the-sea presented an animated scene 011 Saturday evening, when original lighting effects and a number of pretty frocks combined to make brightness. The cubicles were decorated with beautiful dahlias and masses of greenery were in each corner of the room. The latest dance numbers were played by the orchestra who, entering into the spirit of revelry, gave many encores. Softly shaded lights added to the beautiful lighting effects. Among those present were: Mrs. F. Thompson, who wore a - frock of black draped satin beaute; Mrs. Latham (Wellington), crimson georgette and lace; Mrs. H. Gordon, black chiffon frock; Miss S. Scott, green moire frock; Miss E. Devlin, ivory taffeta with frilled skirt; Miss King, saxc blue crepe de chine; Miss McCormick, black tulle and lace; Miss Edna Cox, palest blue lace frock; Miss Boyle, eau de nil crepe de chine and lace; Miss Jean Taylor, palest pink taffeta frock; Miss Berry, ivory crepe de chine; Miss B. Hathaway, shell pink georgette; Miss Peggy Robertson', pink georgette; Miss M. Gifford, frock of salmon pink; Miss C. Hathaway, black georgette, relieved with lemon; Miss M. Cerutty, black lace with diamante; Miss Isabel Davis, apricot satin and gold lace; Miss E. Adamson, blue moire taffeta; Miss G. McNaughton, midnight blue georgette with corsage studded with rhinestone embroideries; Miss Chambers, black georgette and lace with scarlet shoulder posy. •
