Phillips Turner, director of the .State Forest Service, is' attending a meeting of the Tongarirp National Park Board •'at Waimarino. Mr. J. P. Cameron, chairman of the Ghristchurclv Eire Board, has retired after twelve years' service, .during the last four of which he held the position of chairman. ~-■■' , . Major Sir Douglas Hall and Lady Hall will arrive at Auckland by. the Maunganui on Tuesday. They v»*ll leave later for the; fishing grounds at the Bay of Islands. ■ -. ' ■ , , Mr. T. H. McCombs, M.Sc, late national research scholar, of Canterbury College, Chnsteliurch, and a son of Mr. J. McCombs, M.P., has been elected an associate of the Institute of Chemistry of Great.
