Weather and track conditions were all talit could be 'desired for training opera-' tions at Ellerslie this morning. The course proper, with the poles 25 feet out from tile rail", was available, and a. number of gallops took place on this track. The No. 2 grass and hurdle tracks were also, open. The going was hard and fast. Course Proper, Royal Survey was the first out and completed a six furlong gallop in 1.18 4-5. Roxy brought him home -over the last three furlongs, which tojk 39 3-ss. Eager Rose went very evenly over a round, running the distance in 2.6 4-5, the final seven furlongs taking 1.34 3-5. This mare did her work impressively, and is in great' heart. Patutahi got to the end of a mile in 1.49 4-5. He is in first-class order, and should pay his way at the 'country fixtures. Howiclc was timed to run seven furlongs in. 1.33 3-5. He was doing his work well at the finish. Good Idea and Neil beat Detonator by several lengths over six furlongs, run in 1.20 1-5. Good Idea pleased most. Puriri Park, with Manawhenua to assist him, ran five furlongs in 1.4. They were on terms at the finish. United was a shade in front of Silent Miss after covering -four furlongs in 51 4-ss. Both did their work we 11..". ' . .* Brampton was going better than Respirator at the end of a round run in 2.10, the last seven furlongs taking 1.37 3-5. No. 2 Grass. Gold Money did strong work over a round,' but was not after time, taking 1.40 1-5 for the last seven furlongs. Dark Prince got to the end of six furlongs in 1.24, doing it comfortably. Click Clack sprinted home from the three furlong post in '39 3-ss, and Cynthia N, after beguiling slowly, completed a six furlong task in 1.19 3-5. Taneriri sprinted four furlongs which lie covered in 51s. He looks improved, and will soon be at his best again. Justify, going evenly all the- way, ran six furlongs in 1.18 2-5, the Jast half mile taking 525. Lady Suzanne was sent over six longs, running the distance in 1.18 4-5. The best gallop of the morning .was registered by Hampton Park, who was responsible for a brilliant effort over six furlongs. He ran the first fjwo furlongs in 23 4-ss, tliree in 35 3-ss, and the full distance in Lls 2-5. He carried a lightweight, still it was a first-class effort. Brown Prince and Desert Star worked over five furlongs, but not timed. Llanore wag allotted b, round, which she completed in 1.43 3-5, the last seven furlongs taking 1.31 I*s. Gay Cockade was given a similar .task, and going comfortably ran the journey iiv 1.50 1-5, the last six i'urloiigs taking 1.21 1-5. General Lu beat Guy Lucullns easily over lour furlongs, which took 54 3-ss. Gay Idea finished in front of Red Lion at the end of a six furlong task. The first three furlongs took 37 2-ss, and the full distance 1.17 3-5. . Junipers. Bizarro (Garrett) and Lost Comet (Craddock). gave- a pleasing display , over four schooling hurdles. * , Koranui (Stan way) also filiapccr en* couragingly over the same fence. At Takanini. . .The going was , excellent for (jalloping purposes at Takanini this morning, but there was not much doing. Envoy and Havering were companions for six furlongs, and completed their task in 1.15 4-5. They finished on terms. The Chief Ruler.—Pent Etre filly sprinted three furlongs in 395, and Pateena and the Valkyrian—Podokes gelding were on terms over the same distance in 38 2-ss.
