KAURI GUM TRADE.
CONTROL BOARD'S REPORT,
The monthly meeting of the above hoard was held on February 12, Mr. M. H. Wynyard presiding. Nineteen applications for kauri gum buyers' licenses were granted. Four applications for the upliftment of reservation over kauri gum reserves were received from the Lands Depaxtment, and referred to the producers' representative for inspection and report. Seven reports were received from producers' representatives. In one case the board refused to agree to the -upliftnient of reservation and an another case only on the condition that (a portion of the area covered by the application should be excluded froru the area applied for. In the five remaining cases the board agreed to the ■uphfttnen't of reservation, the reports received indicating .'that the land did not contain gum in .payable quantities. The election of .producers representatives on the board will be held on FebruaTA return was received from- the Comptroller of Customs advising .that the export of gum for the month of December was as follows:- Average Value Tons.
