They were accompanied by their son Geoffrey. » tt- # * of women volunteered their cars for transport work during the earthquake disaster," said Mr. Stott, secretary of the Wellington Automobile Association, in a Wellington paper. "This excellent body of people weire given charge of the transport department, and women drivers have been utilised as well as men." A special committee of women drivers was formed and a certain number of them undertook to meet every train carrying refugees. "They have driven goods as well as passengers, ajid proved themselves competent and reliable."
