CHARGES DEFERRED.
CONTRACTOR AND SOLICITOR. . Two charges against an Auckland contractor, William Cornelius Torckler, in one of which he was joined with' a solicitor., Walter Ernest Brian Dunningham, were deferred by Mr. Justice Herdman in the Supreme Court to-day until next session, on. the application of Mr. V. R. Meredith, Crown Prosecutor. The charge against Torckler was that he counselled the making of a false declaration. Torckler and DunningKam were Jointly charged with false pretences. Both indictments- arose out of transactions with the State Advance Department. "
