EXPENSES AND SALARIES "CUT." (From Our Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Wednesday. The Hobs-on County Council has decided to reduce all salaries and wages by 10 per cent from March 1. The county paid £2600 last year in hospital levy, and on the motion of the chairman, Mr. Y. Trounson, it was decided to ask the Hospital Board to reduce its expenditure in every possible way. The council will not appoint a traffic inspector in -place of the late Mr. J. Patton. At the annual meeting the question of revising the allowance paid the chairman and members for travelling expenses will be reviewed.
