j MARINOVICH—MARINOVICH. I St. Benedict's Church was chosen yesterday afternoon for the wedding of Miss Annie . Mattie Marinovich,. eldest daughter of Mr: and Mrs. S. Marinovich, of Oratia, to Mr. Samuel Marinovich, of Kingsland, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Marinovich, of Dalmatia. Father Palinovieh officiated/The bride was given away by. her father, and wore an ivory geor-gette-frock of uneven length, with fanshaped godets of .silk lace let iji round the skirt. A corsage of orange blossom was placed on onie shoulder. The tulleembroidered, -veil, which: also formed the train, was held by a lace band, and 1 small ear:clusters of-blossom. She carried a white bridal bouquet. The bride's two sisters, the -Misses Violet and Daisy Marinovich, were in . attendance. They wore: 'lettuce , green; ankle length georgette frocks, cut on simple lines, with long shoulder sprays of daffodil flowers, their.- upturned crinoline straw hats having velvet floral bandeaux and satin ribbon. Pale lemon shower bouquets were carried.: The little flower girl, Sophie Sokolich, wore a cameo pink georgette, beige lace straw hat, and carried a Victorian posy. The best man was Mr. Mark Marinovich, and the groomsman Mr. Mattey Valinovich. A wedding tea was served at the Domain Kiosk, the tables being adorned in tones of primrose and,pink. The,bride's mother wore midnight blue georgette, with ecru lace vest, blue Bangkok hat. JONES^—CARE. •A wedding of local interest wa<s solemnised at St. Peter's Church, Cambridge, on Monday last, when Marguerite, daughter of Mr. W. G. Care, Cambridge, .was married to Mr. Clinton James-Jones, of Whangarei, son of Mr. Jae. W. Jones, Rosehiil, Sydney. The Rev. Father Hunt officiated, and Mrs Lundon, sen., presided at the organ. The bride, Who .entered the church on Hie arm of her father, wore a dainty frock of palest pink georgette, with a hip yoke effect, the front panel of the skirt being composed of frills. She carried a sheaf of palest pink dahlias and maidenhair. Her headdress was of Honit?n lace, over which was worn a pink tulle veil embroidered with silver and caught with pale pink orange blossoms. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Molly Smith, Whangarei, cousin of the bride, who wore an ankle-length frock of mauve georgette made with basque effect of frills, and a large fichu collar. The second bridesmaid was the bride's small sister, Miss Una Care, who wore an early Victorian frock of blue shot taffeta. Both bridesmaids wore Juliet caps of silver tissue, and carried posit? to tone with their frocks. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. W. L. Care as best man. After the wedding the guests were entertained at a reception at the residence of the bride's parents, Mrs. W. G. Care received her guests wchring a black satin beantc frock and a black hat relieved with touches f floral georgette. She carried a posy of marigolds. COOPER—VERRALL. ' St. Matthew's Church was chosen recently for the wedding of Miss Eva Elizabeth Verrall. eldest <]aughtcr of Mrs. M. Verrall, of "VVestmere, Grey Lynn, to Mr; Ronald Hay ward Cooper, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cooper, of Milton Road, Mount Eden. Canon Grant Cowen officiated and . Mr. Philpott was at the organ. The brid*, who was given away by her brother, Mr. C. Verrall, wore a frock of ivory satin -beaute, the tight-fitting bodice having gaugings up the front and trim- ' m'ed'.with-pearls and diamante. The fully flared skirt dipped at the back to form a slight train. Attached to a lace Juliet cap - was an embroidered veil with ear 1 clusters of orange blossom. She carried a,sheaf of white cactus dahlias. In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses ■ Phyllis Verrall, sister of the bride, and - Hilda Hogan, who were dressed in similarly ■ fashioned frocks of lettuce green and shell pink georgette respectively, cut on long lines with shoulder capes and flared frilled basques at the waist. Hats in pandan arid lace were of the same tones as the shower bouquets they carried. Little Joyce Verrall, cousin of the bride, was flower girl in an early Victorian frock of powder blue georgette with frilled skirt touching the "•round. She wore a little Kate Greenaway poke bonnet of tulle and crinoline straw -and carried a Victorian posy. Mr. Lincoln Smith was best man and Mr. W. Verrall groomsman. The reception was held at the Gaiety Hall, Surrey Crescent, the bride's mother, wearing a fawn and black ensemble, with hat to tone. The bridegroom's mother was in black lace and georgette. THRONE—JOHNSON. St. Matthew's Church, Helensville, was crowded on Tuesday evening, when the marriage of Madoleine Alma, only daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. R. Hill Johnson, to William John, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Throne, County Tyrone, Ireland, was celebrated. The Rev. R. Hill Johnson and the Rev. G. T. Castle officiated. The bride wore _ a period frock of ivory satin, with Medici collar and long tight-fitting bodice and sleeves. The full-length flare skirt was arranged at the waist with small pearl centred flowers and pearl trimming. Her Brussels lace veil formed a train .falling from a lace cap, caught at the sides with sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of pale gold gladioli. Miss Muriel McLean, of Auckland, and Miss Jean Ellett (Helensville) were the maids in attendance. Each wore long frocks of pale pink and gold chiffon, trimmed with lace. Detachable capes, with velvet bows, were also worn, and large felt hats to tone completed the ensemble. Their bouquets were of roses, carnations and dahlias. Little Marjorie Johnson, cousin of the bride, as flower girl, wore a pale pink frock-of silk, with lace .trimmings. The groom was attended .by Mr. Ted Darley and Mr. Stanton Johnson. Mr. Gordon Johnson, uncle of the groom, conducted. the bride to the altar. Mrs. Johnson, mother of the bride, wore an Air Force blue ensemble suit, with hat to tone. Mrs. W. H. Webb, grandmother, was in' black silk. Among the guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Johnson, Mrs., H. Johnson, Mrs. Strange. Mrs. Wilcox, Mrs. Shaw, Rev. and Mrs. G. Castle, Mr. and Mrs. G. Carolan, Mr. and -Mrs. D. Dunningham, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Ellett, Mr and; Mrs. Simmonds (Whangarei), Mr. and Mrs. Kenny (Kaitaia), Mrs. arid Miss Young, Mrs. Jones, Miss W. GOMAS—PKANKLIN.; The wedding was' solemnised at St. Matthew's Church last week of Mabel May, only daughter of Mrs. V. A. and the late Mr-. M. M. Franklin, of "Rosemount," Parkfield Terrace, Grafton, to Claude Raymond, second son of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Gomas, of Lambeth lload. ofi' Dominion Roa/l. Canon Grant Cowen officiated. The bride entered the church on the arm of her uncle, Mr. C. H. Willey,, and: wore an ankle length frock of white georgette, with flared godets of small frills on silk net. Her embroidered tulle veil was cap shape, held in place with clusters of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white sweet peas, carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Eleanor Munns and Miss Lilian J3o.\-Vn:i!l. waring pink and blue crepe de cliinc. ankle- 1 length frocks with silk tulle hem and j large tulle liip bow. Lace straw hats relieved with pink and blue were worn, and each carried a shower bouquet to tone with frocks. Little Rona Willey (cousin of bride) was in an early Victorian frock of lemon crepe de cliine, poke bonnet, and carried a posy to tone with frock. Little Raymond Boxsball, in a miniature dress suit, was page boy. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. S. J. Gomas, and Mr. Maurice Franklin, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman. A reception and dance was held at the Domain KioskMrs. Franklin, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a frock of saxe blue crepe de chine, navy liat, and carried a bouquet of autumn flowers. Mrs. S. J. Gomas, the bridegroom's mother, wore a frock of navy blue Bengaline and navy hat, and lier bouquet was of red to tone. The tables were beautifully decorated with flowers and pot plants.
