GOVERNMENT'S" INTENTIONS.^ STATEMENT THIS WEEK. (By Telegraph.-—Press Association.) , WELLINGTON, this clay. All'sections of the Civil Service, including railwaymen, post and telegraph officials and school teachers waited 011 the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes, to-day, ami asked that in any salary readjustment that might be made, their interests should not be forgotten. The deputation was not open to the Press, but Mr. Forbes afterwards told a reporter that he had informed the deputation that the Civil Service could rest assured they would not be unfairly treated as compared with the rest of the community. The Prime Minister also indicated that he was of making his statement regarding the Government's proposals before the end of the present week. .■
