Sir Louis and Lady Barnett left Wellington for Sydney by the Makura on Tuesday. Judge Eaweon, of the Native Land Court, was a passenger from Wellington to Frankton by the Limited this morning. . Mr. J. Halligan has been appointed chairman of the exporters' committee of the . Wellington Chamber of Commerce. Mr. J. : Fletcher, director of the Fletcher Construction Company, returned by train this morning from Napier. The Rev. E. R. Harries, of Auckland, has been nominated by the Ashburton Presbytery as Moderator of the General Assembly in 1932... The Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, returned by the Limited this morning from Wellington, where he attended a meeting of the Earthquake t Relief.' Committee. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition, returned to Auckland from Wellington this morning an 3 proceeded later to his home at' Matakohe. Mr. K. W. Aimer, architect, of Auckland, has returned to Auckland from Napierj .where lie made 'a report on earthquake damage for the Napier Woollen Mills. Mr. Cecil Wray, representative for the New Zealand Rugby Union in England, arrived at Wellington by the Wanganui last evening. He win leave to-morrow for Christcliurch and Timaru. Mr. H. Bidone, who was for eome time Consul-General for Argentina at Wellington before being transferred to Brazil, has been appointed ConsulGeneral at Melbourne by the Government of Argentina.
