TOUR ABANDONED.

CITY COUNCIL INSPECTION.

A tour of inspection by the Auckland City Council to the Hunua watershed was abandoned to-day on account of yesterday's downpour. A section of five imiles of clay road was included in the route beyond Hunua, and it would have heen impossible to drive the cars over it.

The party had intended to motor to a point in the Mangatawhiri Valley which was visited some years ago and tramp for about three miles from there to the top of the dividing ridge between Mangatawhiri and Mangatangi valleys. On the previous tour the party made a big detour by motor through Pokeno to Mangatangi.
