NEW OTAHUHU SCHOOL.
ENROLMENT OF PUPILS.
EDUCATION BOARD ADVICE,
Directions as to what pupils who are to attend the new Otahuhu post-primary school were received by the Auckland Education Board yesterday from the Education Department. The school since the commencement of its erection some time ago has been commonly known as the "mystery school," because' of the delay on the Department's part in determining what pupils it was to accommodate.
The Department stated tliat Forms I. and 11. from the Otahuhu and Manger© East schools were to be transferred to the new institution, and that Form IJT. from the following schools should also be enrolled:—Otahuhu, Mangere East, Papatoetoe, Manurewa, Takanini, Papakura, Alfriston, Brookby and Weymouth. Action was being taken, it was added, regarding the adjustment of the staffs at the Otahuhu and the Mangere East primary schools. Meantime, consideration should be given by the board to the advisability of continuing to rent the Mangere East Hall for school purposes.
Ihe board decided to act accordingly and to a~k the Department what was being done to provide travelling facilities for children at Alfriston, Brookby and Weymouth.
