GANGSTERS IN NEW YORK, N
A double murder from ambush the third outrage of the kind within a few weekswas perpetrated recently in tlie courtyard of the expensive Alhambra flats at -New York.
The victims, Stephen Ferreigno and Alfred Mineia, have been identified by the police as members of the _ grape racket" gang—dealers in grape-jiace used for making wine—in connection with winch " The Ape" (Joseph Passeli) was murdered the previous day by members o* a rival organisation. Both men's heads were blown away by large size slugs fired at _ close range from shot-guns through the window of the first floor : apartment past which they were walking.
