Sir T. MacKenzie Leaves Estate
Of Nearly £20,000.
COLLECTION FOR OTAGO.

The late Sir Thomas Mackenzie, exPrime Minister and High Commissioner of New Zealand, left an estate of £19,446. He bequeathed his Maori collection to the Otago University Museum.
Sir Thomas Mackenzie was Prime Minister of New Zealand for a short period in 1912, before Mr. assumed office. He held numerous posts in the Cabinet, throughout his 25 years' career in Parliament, including those of Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Health. Trade and Commerce, and Postmaster-General. He represented Xew Zealand at the Peace Congress of 1919.
He has always taken a keen interest in the history of the Dominion, and it<s plant life. lie owned property at Wellington. Roslyn and Otago. He was knighted in 1916.
